Located on a beautiful 765-acre campus, Laurentian University is known for its picturesque landscape surrounded by five of Sudbury’s 330 freshwater lakes, a mixed boreal forest and breathtaking nature trails. It is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe peoples of Atikameksheng First Nation. The Laurentian University is known nationally and internationally as home to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, the Goodman School of Mines, the Bharti School of Engineering, the Vale Living with Lakes Cooperative Freshwater Ecology Unit, the McEwen School of Architecture, and the new Harquail School of Earth Sciences.Signature undergraduate programs include biology (specializations in ecology and restoration biology), education, forensic science, geology, history (offered in French only), Indigenous social work, midwifery, and sports administration. At the graduate level, they include boreal ecology, interdisciplinary humanities, natural resources engineering, mineral exploration, and rural and northern health.
