OCAD University is Canada’s largest university of art, design and digital media, bringing imagination to education, research, and creative enterprise. Since 1876, OCAD U’s specialized programs have inspired students, faculty, and alumni to push the boundaries of art, design and scholarship. Today, the university combines studio-based learning with new approaches that emphasize collaboration, innovation, and integration of emerging technologies.

OCAD U is located in the heart of Toronto, Canada’s largest center for design, culture, and business and one of the world’s most multicultural cities. The university supports a vibrant community life, offering special events, lectures and conferences, visiting artists’ programs and myriad exhibition venues.

Undergraduate and graduate students originate from more than 50 countries. They enjoy a diverse, one-of-a-kind hands-on learning environment and a dynamic faculty that includes leading art, design and digital media practitioners and scholars. OCAD U explores the rich and diverse ways that art and design research contribute to the expansion of knowledge; how practice-based and practice-led research forges meaningful, influential contributions in academic, public and community spheres.

The Imagination Catalyst business incubator at OCAD U supports a highly diverse group of companies all committed to design-driven innovation. The entrepreneurs participating in the incubator tackle challenges simultaneously and form a vital support network for each other.

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers supports the early career advancement of all students and recent alumni. To accomplish this, a wide range of both academic and co-curricular services are offered, including facilitated learning experiences, a variety of skill-building resources and meaningful opportunities.
